The wind is always there

My simple prayer this evening:

cockatoo in flightHoly Mother, Creatrix of all you know I trust in you and truly believe that everything is happening as it should, that there is a hidden wind beneath my wings. I know that though my feathers are wet from torrents of rain and snow, I know in my heart you are always there to strengthen me.

You also know that for all my faith and trust, sometimes I feel sad. Sometimes those wet feathers feel so wet I am not positive all the time that I can fly. Sometimes I feel a bit anxious because if I fall, it looks like a very long way down.

But for all the inner tremblings, I know your wind is always there. All I need to do is believe in your gentle guiding wind. In the gale, it sometimes feel like no bird can fly. But you are there.

Please, Holy Mother, Creatrix, help me to feel your wind under my wings when my feathers are soaked, bring people in my life to cheer me on and tell me they believe in me.

Every bird must fledge, must dare to touch the sky. Be with me and show me how to soar.

Repost: 17 Differences Between Rich and Poor

923544_522633857793764_2029061548_nMy interest in the Law of Attraction means I inevitably receive a lot of email, most of it designed to sell something to me — a seminar, a video, a book.  I am sure you are not alone.  Email lists are wonderful — except for the way so many of them inevitably are designed to sell you something.  It is one reason, actually, why I defy conventional wisdom and do NOT set up mailing lists of fans or potential fans for my books.  I hate junk email and I’m sure you do too!

This morning I received an email that was clearly designed to sell me a book or something focusing on what rich people do that poor people do not do.  I have no interest in buying whatever they are selling.  But sprinkled among the standard “buy this” fare, the email did contain some useful information, information I am republishing here.

Stripping away the stuff we don’t want, here is the useful things from that email with just ONE “buy my book” link retained as a form of citation:

The process of manifestation states that thoughts lead to feelings, feelings lead to actions, and actions lead to results. Everything in your life begins with your thoughts and your thoughts are generated from your mind.
Therefore it is vital to know how to program your mind so the thoughts you think are supportive thoughts which help you to achieve your financial goals.
The universal truth is that we become what we think about. Buddha also said “All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become”. It’s an obvious fact that if you want to be someone you have to think like that person.
Thinking British is the surest way to become British.

Thinking British is the surest way to become British.

For example if you want to be an engineer, you have to think like an engineer. If you want to be rich, you have to think like the rich. Fortunately the way of thinking can be learnt and practised.
The following are the 17 wealth files which can be found in “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” book.

Repost: It’s the Doubt (Abraham Hicks)

Today’s re-post from Abraham Hicks is called “It’s the Doubt.”

You have to understand that it´s the DOUBT,

that you are trying to find your way out of,

Not the accomplishment of whatever it is,

that you doubt you can accomplish!

Did you hear that??

The work is to work your way out of the feeling of doubt,

NOT into the feeling of having whatever it is that you´re feeling doubtful about!

That´s so big!

– Abraham Hicks

Meditations on “It’s the Doubt”

On August 30th, I received another great Abraham Hicks quote about the Law of Attraction and how to manifest positive things into your life.

Women/Validation

So what does all this really mean for us?

Thinking about my own habits about constantly seeking validation from other people, it occurs to me that seeking validation is a terrible (yet common) social impulse.  When we seek validation from someone, we are essentially saying that we do not feel confident in our own point of view, that we need to be agreed with in order to feel it is okay to see the world the way we see it.

The mind hole (to use a popular Law of Attraction term) here is that when we seek that “yes, you are right; yes this is the way to go” from other people, we open ourselves up to being COMPLETELY TALKED OUT of our own point of view.  We take on the other person’s point of view, telling the Universe that we changed our mind and really DON’T want whatever it is.

And then we wonder why we remain unhappy and do not get what we want!

Using the river and boat metaphor I published in my earlier blog post, what we have done is let SOMEONE ELSE into our boat of life and let THAT PERSON turn it up stream (away from our goals) for us.  What is worse, the small doubt we started with has grown dramatically.  It is no longer a small insecurity.  It is now a full rejection of what we really know in our hearts means a lot to us.

Instead of living our own lives and following our own inner sense of morality, we’ve assimilated something else, someone else’s point of view.  We lose our voices and miss out on golden opportunities for true joy.

So perhaps the answer is to stop asking others what they think, especially when it comes to something important to us.

It is not easy.  But it is essential for inner peace.
